Exquisite quality of products. Very happy with our shopping here.
Viktualienmarkt or 'Viktuals Market' by some translations is on of the main markets in Munich. It is directly beside Marienplatz, one of the central locations for Munich and is comprised of a number of vendor stalls. Many of the stalls are geared toward tourists, and prices tend to be on the steep side, but this is not a standard tourist trap. Local butchers, fruit and vegetable sellers are also here with many fine products. There are a few wine stands that are packed daily, and there is enough variety and space to spend a hour or more wandering around. There is a beer garden at the center here which serves beer from the local breweries. Recommended as a destination for tourists as well as locals. Four stars due to some locations being beyond what I would consider 'market' prices.
Good place for a photo opportunity. Lots of locally produced goods on sale which makes things more expensive, but then you are supporting family businesses. Very crowded
I liked it. Nice market in the city center. You can find fruits and vegetables, but also meat and cheese. There is a big brewery in the middle of the market. It is nice to walk through, take a break. It is allowed to eat your own food in the brewery if you buy a bear. Not a bad deal.
Small town market with a very good ambience
Wildfleischhandel
Love this place so much, you can get whatever you want, flowers, fruits, vegetables and all kinds of wine...
A must see you when you’re in Munich
best market ever....
The Victuals Market is one of the most picturesque place in Old Munich. It is both a tourist attraction and the perfect place to find all the ingredients you may ever need to prepare a sophisticated recipe for your demanding guests, ranging from the simplest to the most exotics ingredients. Is the place to drink a typical bavarian beer accompanied by a strong and tasy ”bratburst” in an unpretentious stand-up kiosk or in its Beer Garden. But, as well, you could stand on line for long time to gain access to a superb fish soup prepared on the spot in one of the famous fishmonger place. If you are in to arts, well, there you are. Victuals Market has a series of bronze figures that tell a little bit of Munich and Bavaria's story and traditions. Needless to say that after visiting the Marienplatz exploring "der Viktualienmark" is a must!
Nice to visit
Great market right in the centre of Munich
The victuals market preserves the feeling of being in a small town even while being in the city center of a small city. It is also the best place to purchase seafood or plants in the city. Also you can find here good soup, spices, coffee and meat.
Beautiful These days

Very nice food market in the center of Munchen
Cozy and lovely walk through the market. A nice place in the city
200 year old food market, all kinds of food from all over the world. Excellent fresh regional food. A must if you visit Munich
This place is the very heart of Munich! I made sure I visit every time I'm on a business trip many years ago and now I live in Munich... if you like real local produce and speciality foods, like wild boar meat, this is the place to go! My observation: the vendors seemed to have taken a slight hit due to Covid-19, as they are reliant on foot traffic...go and support them!
Nice place with domestic flavour. Many interesting local, traditional and not only fresh food
Buying home goods as hostess or host gifts
Fantastic outdoor Market
One of my favorite place in Munich. You can feel the spirit and the smell of the city there
Went there on a lovely autumn afternoon. Great atmosphere, beautiful flowers, lots of produce and food products. Nice to stroll through.
Beautiful market
Awesome range of high quality food and other vendors selling all sorts. Good range of bars and restaurants nearby too. Well worth a visit.
All the good stuff can be found here. From fish to herbs. High quality. Only for visitors with high taste expectations.
If you're a tourist do try out some of the Wine places and Fresh Meat Products like Bratwurst or Leberkäse you will definitely find good options, better than other ones you can find in the city. Fresh produce and other interesting items will always catch your eye. A lovely place for a stroll and a meal.
great place to buy grocery and meats
Not much to say. This is a place you absolutely HAVE TO visit if you spend some hours or days in Munich. Its not as fun since Corona but you can still appreciate top quality fruits and veggies among many other. Besides its next to the Marinenplatz and dozens of shopping opportunities. Get a Beer and a Weißwurst while you at Victuals Market.
We love this place
Local German Market. Really worth a visit just for the olfactory and buskers as well as local produce available
Great place to grab a coffee or some excellent local produce from one of the market stalls... There's also an excellent beer garden and a few great places to get a nice snack
Good market
Very nice...but tooo much expensive...and fruits are not so good as price ?
What a great place for food lovers! We found some exotic fruits like tiny mangoes and jackfruit which we craved for in Europe. Also, fantastic collection of eating choices. Hungarian, Lebanese, Greek, Italian - there is a choice for everyone. You will also be spoilt for choices on groceries and condiments. I wish there were more outside seating places and that the market itself was bigger than what it is. This market is not to be missed.
Best Nordsee in Munich
Great place to stroll around although prices are high
Loved these markets, the food on offer was inspiring and made me want to get back into the kitchen.... after enjoying a few treats here first.
Really cool place for souvenirs, to drink beer, to eat fish and of course for a nice classic Munich-View
Very cosy and beautiful. The fiod is very tasty!!!
Amazing place to experience a lot of different smells from the stalls. A must to visit 8f in the area
Great place to enjoy the best Bavaria beer and food.
Nice shop with organic food, excelent bistro, friendly people, location top...
Lovely market with fresh produce and delicious specialties. Food and drinks.
I was really surprised to see such kind of Oktoberfest behaivior during the Corona crisis. Keep in mind, Munich is currently a Hot-Spot and a lot of people doesn't take care of Hygen. S stay away if you want to be Safe!
Has outside dining during summer and people are friendly
Nice market... Not corona proof
Good food, nice surroundings and lots of beer
